.............426245T......................I'm considering one of these as a target scope, but am baffled by the photo in SWFA's on-line catalog. The pictured scope appears to be only about twice as long as the sunshade parked next to it, while the specs list the scope length as 16.9". Is this an illusion, or is this thing actually shorter than than the listed length? I would totally appreciate someone actually putting a tape on one to get a true measurement (without the sunshade).

The reps at Bushnell won't be troubled with the request and I understand they are busy with the phones, but I have good reason to believe their listed spec is in error.

Can anyone help with this?

Thanks

I would tend to believe this is an illusion. The scope is of some lengthe compared to the shade. 16.9 sounds about right. It is certainly no compact scope.
Edit to add Welcome to Optics Talk.

Thanks for the response, cyborg, But I would still like it if someone out there who has one of these scopes and a Stanley (or any other kind of) tape measure would actually measure the scope length.

I have this scope and enjoy it, I sold off my 4-16x50 so I could get this one.

It measured roughly 13 3/4" and the sunshade is 5 1/8" but I would imagine the 1/8 would screw into the scope when installed.

Hope this helps
