I ordered one, and it showed up today.  Last night I swapped around a FFII and a Monarch, both 3-9x40, to make room for the 4200 on the intended rifle.  I had both in my hands several times.  Upon opening the 4200, the first thing I noticed was that it seemed heavier than either the FFII or Monarch.  I was right.  This thing weighs 408 grams, or 14.4 oz.  Everyone lists it as being 13 oz.  I wonder why it's so far off.  Is there something odd about my individual scope, or are the specs just misquoted everywhere?

You must have gotten the Heavy duty model Wink, truthfully they probably weighed it at one point in time, but as products evolve  it must have gained weight and they didn't think to update the specs.  Either way, I wouldn't worry about it, its a great scope so enjoy as is.

Oh I'm not worried about the extra ounce and a half- especially since it's going on a .338 Win.  I was just wondering why the discrepancy.

Jason, the extra 1 1/2 ounces may help tame the beast, great caliber by the way.

That's what I was thinking too.  Thanks!

The rifle, a Savage 110 with laminated stock, Weaver Grand Slam bases(extended front) and low Warne's, weighs exactly 9.25 lbs scoped and unloaded.  I just cut the stock down 3/8" to make room for a Limbsaver pad, and completely sanded and refinished with 4 coats of oil, then steel wooled to a flat finish.  Took me several hours, with getting the butt perfectly flush/flat after being cut the most tedious.  I think the rifle is complete and well rounded for what it is.  Now to go sight it in with those Federal 225 gr Accubonds...  Gotta love a .550 BC @ 2800 fps!
