Hey i just got a Bushnell Elite 3200 4-12x40mm. I was wondering if the function of the objective adjustment ring is to adjust the reticle so it is clear in the scope? Is that why there are different yardage options on the scope? So if i'm taking a 200 yard shot, do i switch the adjustment ring to the 200 option mark?

This is what i think the feature is for but i want to make sure so i know my scope better. Thanks for a response!

That is a parralax adjustment ring. The focus for the reticle is on the ocular end of the scope. Yes to a certain extent the ring should be close to the yardage that you are shooting at. There will be some variance of course. The trick is to get the ring close at a given range and tilt your head from one side to the other. If the reticle moves around on the target then you are off on the adjustment. Make the adjustment until there is no shift in reticle placement.
