I just spent a week in the Zululand Bushveld and seen some amazing animals, but the highlight of my week. Has to be being 20m from 4 Elephant Bulls on the ground in my wheelchair, absolutely stunning experience to have and also quite scary as well.

Makes you realize how insignificant we actually are, in the animal kingdom when you are that close. Make no mistake they knew we where there, and kept turning and smelling us. Lukily they were not bothered by our presense.

We also found this little gem, she had just killed a Wildebeest cow and was taking a break in the shade. the carcass was lying 3 yards from a natural blind that I had been sitting in two days before hunting.

I took this photo from the blind I was sitting in just two days before we found the lion, if you look on the left where they shade patch is just in front of the Nyala. Thats where the lion was lying when we found her.

Great pics Chris. I can see your reasons for both stunning and scary, especially scary!

Now that is cool-ass!  I never saw an elephant in Africa.  But I spent a day down in Zululand checking on two drilling rigs.  A hundred miles of dirt road down and a hundred miles back out after dark!

After I reached 'civilization'---Pongola---I tracked down the Company Man at his hotel and we got mightily drunk....I wound up spending the night on the carpet in his hotel room....  Bucky

Very nice pics. Now there was the right opportunity to put the Blaser through its pacesSmile

Some wild country you are hunting in, I must add.

There is still the story doing the rounds in Pongola about some guy being seen with carpet burns on his knees, stumbling down the hotel corridor.

Chris, you should participate in the Hot Shots section.
On the mature bull, is he blind? Something appears to be wrong with his eye.

Skylar no he is fine, he threw mud up on his face when he was in the water. This is two photos of the same Bull as he was walking in, you can see its the same guy. By the presence of shall we say the 2nd trunk at the back, where he is standing at the bow blind you can just see it as well.

More Elephant photos, watching them feed is amazing, they are either destructive as hell or using the finess of a Surgeon. I seen a lot of Elephant this year, where last year I didnt see one.
