Has anyone tried this?- http://www.competitor.com I know it's a bit pricey, but if it works exceptionally good, I can live with the cost. Only personal experience please.

Here's one review from one our customers regarding the Elcan Specter.

AWESOME sight This sight is awesome, period. It’s very accurate, reliable, and much more flexible application than all the others, i.e. red dots & ACOGs. The etched reticle is clear, can be illuminated to varying intensities, but unlike a red dot, it is still very visible if not illuminated. Also, you can switch it to just a red dot aiming point. ALL OF THESE sighting options are available at either magnification. Not too heavy and more compact than a 6x ACOG. Just the perfect combat sight - at any price and well worth every penny spent

I have briefly played with the Specter DR and thought it was excellent.

I am also doing an extended test on the Specter OS 4x since it is a little lighter than the DR and I am liking it more every time I use it.

Koshkin what is the big different between the specter DR and the specter OS 4? I saw that the OS has a cross hair and a chevron, which one would you use?

The OS is a straight 4x power scope, rather than the dual power 1x/4x DR.

The OS is also a little lighter.

Between the two reticles, it is really a matter of preference.  The one I have here has the crosshair, which is a little better than the chevron for precision shooting.

Historically, I like chevron reticles for their combination of speed, precision and rudimentary rangefinding.  However, the Elcan crosshair reticle is pretty well designed, and the illumination is bright enough where it really comes down to personal preference.
