I had a 15inch Polaroid flat panel TV for the kitchen, it died at 11 months old.

so I called Polaroid, paid 16.00 in shipping, they sent me a replacement it arrived at my house on Mar 25th. I returned from a trip and set it up, it was DEAD TOO.

So on April 3rd I called to see about a Replacement for the Replacement. I was told no problem, that the replacement had a warranty, but they needed me in front the unit for testing (it's DEAD, no POWER) Still they wanted me in front the unit. 2-3 days later I call while infront the DEAD TV. They end up saying no problem, we will send you a replacement and a return tag.

Well weeks pass and so I called today and Polaroid says - oh it's out of WARRANTY you only had 7 days from March 25th to report it being DEAD. I asked for a supervisor and they refused to let me speak to anyone else.

Just damn, I hate that they are giving you the run around. I hope that they get this straightened out for you.

well I called back and told Polaroid I was going to call the Louisiana consumer protection board, that got there attention, but after being on hold 8 min, they came back saying again, I only had 7 days to report the replacement as being dead, regardless of what I was told prior by Polaroid reps.

I filled out a on-line complaint with the LA CPB, but I am sure I lose!!

If you get no positive response pack it up and put a few pieces of dog crap in the package along with a note stating........... you can have your piece of crap back!   Big Grin

I don't think I would do that... they can file charges on you for sending a dangerous substance through the mail.  It was done last year.  Cost the guy who did a fortune and some jail time.

good ideas, but I give up, this kinda crap really messes with my blood pressure, so it's best to let it go.

Call the local TV channel. Most of them have some sort of consumer "watchdog" type of reporters. Once they start digging around and plaster it all over TV, Polaroid may "see the light". It works that way around here anyway. Good luck.

10+  B&B has it strait! Publicity will work wonders.  In Baltimore, channel 7 has Dick Gelfman's 7 on your side.  Every night he would feature a story like this.  He would even go to the the company's offices with camera crews and demand explanation.  He had a 93%+ success rate on getting them to fix things!
