I've got this mount on a 7mm-08 Savage Mod. 14 with a Bushnell 4200 3-9x40 I bought off a guy that was hard up for cash. First time I ever owned a 4200 or DNZ mounts. I can't get that thing to group. 5 different kinds of ammo, clean every 3 rounds, then every round. Cold bore, or one behind the other, doesn't matter. best I can get is 1.5-1.75". I won't own a gun that won't shoot less than 1". Where to look first, bases or scope?

The 4200 is a good scope you could try other rings if that doesnt work I would have the crown re cut and see if that fixed it and if that didnt do it try free floating and glass bedding it and lap the bolt lugs. Somewhere in the process it will either start shooting or become trading material.

may want to test the scope on another gun thats known to group first.  take the scope out the equation.
