I have noticed for sometime that I am needing to re-adjust the diopter when going from distance objects to close objects and vise-versa. I am 21 and my eyes are not as good as they used to be with one eye having better vision than the other. Could this be the cause for the imbalance? Note that the diopter can be adjusted for objects at distance x, but at some other distance y, it need be changed. It is not a large difference, just enough that I get a bit of loss in clarity and one eye will come into focus slightly before the other.

The binoculars I speak of are the Vortex Viper HD's.

The first thing that comes to mind is a visit to your local eye doctor.
Contact lenses should take care of the problem.
