I have currently a Bushnell 71-3946 3-9x40 with BDC cam/turrents

I read somewhere the degree angle of view is 7.2 - 3.x

The eye relief is 4"

Some other Bushnell scopes have numbers like 5.5-2.1 and 3.2-0.9 for this??

What is degree angle of view?? Is it the maximum viewing angle from the rear of the scope?? (aka side to side movement)??

  First off, WELCOME to OT!

I was wondering myself what angle of view was when I saw it listed in the specs for my 4x32 Conquest so I decided to find out.  HOPE I explain this right.

The angle of view (given in degrees) is the area size seen thru the scope expressed as a diagonal angular field.  It determines what the field of view or maximum area seen thru the scope (given in ft and yds) will be.  So the higher the angle of view value given (say 7 degrees over 3 degrees) in the scopes specs, the wider the field of view.

" Degree angle of view" must be the viewing angle from the front of the scope.
 7.2 -3x  this means 7.2 degree for the 3x power of the riflescope or 12.6 m /100 m or
37.89 ft /100 yds.
