Wonderfull!  Hope she is okay!  Looks like tranny fluid, so tranny cooler bought it.  What about the AC Condenser and Radiator?   Do the front doors open freely?  I'd take the Insurance check (Fight for OEM body parts!  They're more expensive) then head for the junkyards.

I had just rebuilt my 88 Cherokee Laredo when my daughter started to drive. 3 accidents in 6 months and I can now take apart that thing blindfolded.  Actually made money.  Whole junkyard fender is around $50.  Front clip / grill was $250.  Thats probably a couple of grand to put it in a shop.

Did you at least get some venison outa the deal?

No, backstraps!  My wife was freaking out enough without me running down there and Rambo cutting the deer.  She was fine outside of feeling really bad.  She saw the legs fly up and everything.  When she turned around to come home the deer was trying to stand up in the ditch and was a mess.

That was tranny fluid, radiator fluid and yes the AC condenser.  I'm sure the Radiator fan was shot as well.  Body shop guessed it at 4k.  Doors looked ok to me, but thats not measuring it on a frame machine.  They had to tow it from the house since it blew a couple of quarts of fluid.

That or if they total it out tell them you wanna keep it and take the salvage price out of you settlement. It'll have a savage title but you can get it for a premium.  When I wrecked the G35 the Total loss value was 17500 and i could have kept it for 2300 off that and walked away with the car and 15200 in cash but opted for the 17500 cause the engine was close to gone anyway.

DARN deer!  If you ain't hittin' them, their hittin' you!  WV is the #1 state with the highest probability of a deer/vehicle encounter.  1 in 45

It's only correct and legal to have such an incident AFTER it's paid off. That's the American way.

Insurance claims adjuster just wrapped up, 4300.00... I wouldn't mind doing the repairs if I had the time.  I'm going to let the body shop take care of it.  Truck runs great so I hate to just let it go.  Besides, after checking out the cost of a new Yukon/Tahoe... YIKES.  Wife wants to downsize on the next SUV so I think a Ford Explorer could be in next years budget.

Yes, the 2010 model is the last one like the current model.  Doug was telling me the new one will be a unit body with a total different look and better fuel mileage.

I'm not sure, I can't find any data on the new model.  Doug said his plant was working on some of the new body panels.
