Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think I trust doing person to person business over the net ... let alone over-seas over the net.

So what I'm looking for is a high quality, high variable power ( 8-42x, 10-50x, etc.)large objective (56-60mm), 30mm tube, with a large calibrated side paralax wheel...

Something like the Nikko-Stirling Diamond Sportsman 10-50x60mm AO... I believe that Nikko-Sterling is made in China. Do any of the American, or western European companies offer a scope with similar features? I'm guessing if they do it'll be a bank-breaking proposition?

Regards from Colorado

tasco used to offer that line of scopes under the Custom Shop name.  You might find a used one floating around the Internet somewhere.  As far as I know there is nothing on the market here in the U.S. like that any longer.

i have a few freinds that have the tasco 10-40 scopes, and they seem to like them. you can buy them from sportsmans guide fro i think 150. they reported that they get a little blurry withink 100 yards above 16 power. and then the next step up would be the nightforce 12-42, and i think premier reticle has soem real powerful scopes.

This is the game....

http://www.aafta.org

With a moderate to high power pellet rifle:

Basically it intails shooting very small kill zones (3/8"-1.25") on knock down targets at ranges from 12yds to 50 yds, any position as long as the rifle is entirely supported by the shooters body (unaided by any mechanical or natural rest).

The common range finding technique seems to be finely focusing on the target and reading the range on the parallex scale.... hense the need for the large side focus wheel...

See if anybody overe there imports the BIG MP HAKKO scopes. In UK this is MORE OR LESS limited to DEBEN who do the 10-50*56 "nd FP Iluminated Mil-Dot - I use the 6-26 version. Expensive for the US - about 1200 dollars at current rate of excahnge - and you have more choice there. These are similar to the TASCO DCU CUSTOM SHOP SCOPES.

But MANY European FT shooters here go STRAIGHT to premier Reticles who have experience & can do modified Leupold LR Target scopes - Thay can do them with modified focal ranges - i.e 10-60yards etc.

If you could ... please post a pic of one of your daystate rifles under the rifle heading, "sweet setups".

Somehow I get the impression that alot of people think that when we are talking about pellet rifles they think we are talking about something like the old crossman pump ups from back in the 70's...

I put about 60 rounds(sometimes way more) thru my air rifle every day and its made a huge improvement in my overall shooting ability... and I live on a small lot and my neighbors have never complained.

It sounds about like an electric stapler and it shoots about the same as .22 match ammo...

If you want to be able to shoot every day, unless you are living on an acreage.... is the only way to go.

So if you could and are so inclided ... please post a pic...

I would but my setup looks pretty odd (i.e. way more scope than rifle...LOL).

Thanks,
Knewt in Colorado
