I have Tikka T3 in .243 coming and can't quite decide on a scope. I've narrowed it down to either a Bushnell 6500 2.5-16 x 44, or the Zeiss Conquest in either 4.5-14 x 44 or 3.5-10 x 44. Any suggestions? Use would be deer and the occasional coyote.

My opinion would depend on how you hunt, but I lean towards the Conquest. Probably the 3.5-10 unless you are a long range .243 hunter. I would think at any reasonable .243 range, the 3.5-10 would be plenty.

I have both scopes,Conquest is the better glass but for hunting in the rain Bushnell, also has firefly & a better magnification box & rainguard.

Souther California. Rain diring a deer hunt has never been a problem. Sunstroke maybe, but not rain! Big Grin

Stickbow, let's toss in another one you suggested in a reply in another thread: the  Minox ZA 5 3-15 x 42.

http://swfa.com/Bushnell-25-16x42-Elite-6500-30mm-Rifle-Scope-P10926.aspx  for $700.

Have looked through some conquest and it is nice glass.  Agree with Trigger on the 3.5 as a coyote does like to pop up close.  The 2.5-16 is a great mag range.  Have not looked through one but members here do have them.  Either one would be enough magnification for deer.  Tough call.
