Not a smart move........................it was his last.

NOTE: this is VERY graphic and not for the faint of heart.

Bummer way to buy it, we had a contractor walk across a LIVE busbar while he was installing duct work in the powerhouse at my last place of employment.  It went in through his boot and out at his shoulder blade.  He survived the actual shock but it opened him up like a busted open hot dog from heel to shoulder. He was smoking just like this guy but not as bad.  His boot blew open and was burning when I saw him.  He was in shock and kept telling me he was blessed not to have been killed.  I don't know if he survived the internal damage of the electrocution.  Not a way I'd recommend to go.

Looks like that happened over in India. Their form of body diposal is primarily cremation.  If so, this guy had a good start before the fires were even lit!!....Flame Thrower

I would agree. I saw a fellow maintenance man (who should have known better) try to tighten a motor lead for a 200 h.p. electric motor while the motor was running. Somehow contact was made where it shouldn't have been. As I was walking over to see what he was doing, I saw a flash, and the equipment shut down, and he was on the ground about 15 feet away. His glasses had melted to his face, his watch had severely burned his arm, but he just kept asking for his screwdriver. (I don't think I ever did find all of it) I'm pretty sure he was in shock. He was smoking, and all black from the neck up. He survived, but isn't the same guy he used to be. I think it messed him up. I think I"ll continue to lock things out when I work on them.

The arc/flash even at level zero is still a lot of power. What that poor guy grabbed hold of was in the 2-3 range and I'll bet the system never even tripped.
