I have the Euro model in .223.  I ran into a problem with the bolt throw and the size of the scope's bell. This is even with a not-so-big scope such as Redfield Revenge TAC MOA 3-9, and a Burris Fullfield II 3-9.

The Redfield has a reasonably sized diameter to clear, so I don't know what scopes to consider.  I am trying to avoid a tall set of rings, as I'd like to get the scope as low as possible to fit me.

Are there any directions you all would point me in? Thanks!

I don't know if CZ offers a different bolt for your rifle. But I know CZ did offer or still does for their rimfire rifles for that problem. Might be worth checking it out.

Leupold Ultralight 2-7x28 and 3-9x33 probably have the smallest eyepiece diameter of the commonly available modern scopes.  It is about 0.2" smaller than on Burris Fullfield II, if memory serves me right.

That may help, thanks. What concerns me is that the Fullfield II is a bit bigger than the Redfield Revenge. I'm going to have to get some measurements.

If you can find a Nikon Monarch 3-9x40 it will fit nicely with Burris Medium rings.  There is an aftermarket option for bolt handles for the CZ527.  Can't remember the site.  Basically you send in your bolt handle and he sends you a modified handle.

Thanks.  Any idea of the price on that bolt swap?

I have a Leupold Vari-X III 4.5-14 x 40 mounted in Burris medium rings on my CZ 527 Kevlar stocked .223 Varmint model.  The stock bolt handle clears the eye piece when the Butler Creek lens cover is removed.

I don't think that would work with the Euro model. But i'll look into it.

Good choice.

To the gentle reader who may have happened upon this thread, magshooter is referring to the OLDER UCC Monarchs, not the NEW Monarchs. The new ones have a big old ocular housing that won't behave itself on a CZ.

New style handle. Another source.

My American will accept much lower rings with the new handle.  Mine was installed at the factory.

I have an SS 3-9x42 on mine.  Love it.  Bolt is tight, but just because I haven't gotten around to swapping out the bolt handle with the new bolt, but it works.
