I'm looking to add a Weaver V16 (4-16x42) to my CZ thumbhole varmint.   I'm looking to get some advice on which rings work best.  Ive read tha the CZ bolt can be an issue with low rings, Im new to CZ looking for some help.  Thanks

For "the best", I'd look to Talley rings.

That said, I use medium Warne rings both of my 452's and they work quite well.

The first pic is my beloved CZ 452 Trainer donning a Weaver 2-7x28 Rimfire scope. As evidenced, you have decent bolt clearance.

The next shots are my 452 .17 HMR wearing a Minox 1.5-8x32mm scope. Same rings as mentioned above. Again, worked well and had decent bolt clearance.

With your scope having a 42mm objective, I'm not sure if you can go with mediums or high Warne rings.

I LOVE my 452's, but they can be a little "tricky" to scope.
(prolly cuz they were made to be shot with irons.) Wink

My .22LR 452 is now using Tech Sights and the .17 has the Weaver 2-7x.

I have a set of 1" low or medium rings you can have.  I installed a DIP 20 MOA picatiny base and have no desire to go back, so they are your's for the asking.

I had genuine CZ "medium" rings (.630") on my old 453 Varmint and liked them. I'm just not fond of vertically split rings and the only other way I know of to get that much height is to go with a Weaver base and and high or extra high rings. CZ's use of a built in 11mm base on all but one or two of their rimfires really limits your choices. I'd call SWFA and see if they can get you some genuine CZ rings.
