I have a Weaver 1-3x20 V3 scope and so far like it a lot (especially for the $150 price). The true 1x magnification setting is VERY nice. (I can even use my FAL's iron sights through the scope, or use them to verify that the scope is still zeroed.)
However, I would really like a bolder, faster to acquire reticle. Does anyone do custom reticles for this scope?
Ideally, I'd like a brightly illuminate reticle on this scope too, but I know that's not possible as a retrofit. Oddly, all the illuminated scopes on the market use a 30 mm tube and weight over 1 pound, sometimes well over. Why? This nifty little Weaver 1-3x20 only weights half a pound, why doesn't Weaver (or someone) make an illuminated version in that lightweight, 1-3x form factor?
The new $570 illuminated Burris 1-4x24 Xtreme Tactical XTR looks promising, but it also weighs 17 ounces.
