I have a brand new CRF 1200 unit in the closet waiting for next hunting season.   Lately I've been shopping for a higher end binocular set to accompany the CRF.  Now I'm wondering if it doesn't make sense to sell the CRF 1200 and just buy a Geovid unit and have one less item to carry.  Anyone do the same?  Any feedback on using a Geovid as your primary hunting binocular?

Thanks.

The Binoculars will last a lifetime with care. Electronics usually don't last. If nothing else the batteries very likely will not be around because of new technology. All in one when one part goes down the $2,300 unit is gone for repairs and you have nothing. If you have both then if the range finder goes down or is obsolete in 5-10 years it is a lot less expensive to replace or upgrade. K.I.S.S. Just think, 5 years ago who would have thought that the incandescent bulb would be legislated out of existence.

Thunbs Up

An all-in-one sounds like a great idea but the cost and what 3_tens just pointed out should be a concern.

I've been using the crf1200 (which is extremely light and compact) along with fairly high- end bino's that are very light weight as well (great optics of coarse); I'd definitely go that route again.  Smile

I went with the Geovid......and love it. They are heavy, but not any worse than a bino and rangefinder. I also like the 10x view in my rangefinder.
