Serial number 70SC1911

Series 70 Commander in SC (satin chrome), made in 1971 in pristine condition.  Pretty cool 1911 with the serial number being 1911 too.

That would be an excellent catch for any collector. It has the box too. I love 70 series 1911s.

It is a scarce gun in the configuration it is in, steel frame opposed to alloy, Commander not Combat Commander, the finish and of course the vintage/condition.

Add in the serial number and its super cool. Wink

By all means, if you are interested, bid.

I'll play ball for a little while, but won't go full tilt at this.  It is a cool gun and probably worth allot more to someone else.  For me, it is cool and worth a little time and cash.

I don't have the disposable income at this time, but I sure would like to. That is a rare piece; it would look good on you RC.

It is.

Wondering if I should improve upon it or leave it in original condition.

Don't do anything to it. Leave it original.

Nice pistol!

Change the grips and store 'em unless you like the way they feel.

Shoot it and keep it in the box. Keeping it and not shooting it just don't add up.

SWFA, who taught you people to clean a gun?

Damn!

I need to drive down and have a period of instruction with - someone.

I like the gun, it has a few items that need addressing, but it will stay original.

Does anyone have a Colt made around the same time?  It differs- markedly - from my other 1911s.

The good news is it has very, very little wear, almost no rounds down the tube, and is overall in good shape.
