If you have a pic through the scope that would be great. what do you guys think of the conquest 3-9x40 with their #4 reticle? Last year, on a powerline in questionably legal light, the z-plex ran out of "light" and i love the z-plex... how do you like the #4

I have a Kahles CL with the 4a and LOVE it
ordered a Conquest with the 4a and found it TOO thick
both in 3/3.5-10x50
I also have a Zplex in a 4.5-14

I just received back a Leupold VX III 2.5-8x36 from the factory after having the reticle changed to a #4.  I really like the  reticle and it was very reasonably priced for the work, including return shipping.  $60 or so.

I can recommend the reticle and am thrilled with Leupold service.

If you're having light issues changing reticles wouldn't help much if any. It may appear that way with the top crosshair not covering up your image. It does allow you to get on target a little faster.

May want to consider upgrading to a Swarovski or Kahles with the #4.

Here's a view through the Conquest with the #4

SAKO75,

Like ccoker above, I also have a Conquest 3-9 with a 4A reticle as well as Kahles 4-12x52 Multizero with a a 4A reticle. I like both scopes, a lot, and have no issues with the thickness of the reticles even though I would have to agree the Conquest is a bit thicker than the Kahles.

My Kahles Multizero is mounted on a Rem 700 5R MILSPEC used for target shooting with zeroes set at 100, 200, 300, 400, and 600 yards and at no time has the 4A reticle gotten in the way.

The Conquest is mounted on a Kimber 8400 Montana in 30-06 and is what I use for hunting. I recently had the opprtunity to take several shots at a deer running full speed across a hillside trail at about 40 yards, and then again at approximately 80 yards after he had turned almost straight uphill. He was lethally hit both times but only came down after the second hit. However, what really amazed me was how quickly and easily I was able to acquire and track it for each shot and in my opinion this was mostly due to the visibility provided by the thickness and boldness of the 4A reticle against the moving background.

You can put me down as a believer in the 4A reticle!

Sako,

Sorry about the confusion on the Zeiss. Yes it is a #4 instead of the #4A. However, it doesn't change my comments at all. Good luck!
