OK, I did not get much feedback on the Vortx Viper HS, so I don't think I will risk it. Other possible scopes are Ziess Conquest 4.5-14x50, Luepold VX3 4.5-14x50, Sightron Big Sky 4-16x50, and Minox 4-20x50. Which of these scopes is the best for the money?
I am kind of leaning towards the Conquest or the VX3.

Sorry I didn't post on your other thread, but I have looked at the Viper HS LR scopes and thought they were pretty nice. The glass is better than good enough, but the features are really nice. A BDC and exposed elevation knob makes sense when you have varying amounts of time to make a longer shot. 1/2 MOA adjustments are fine enough for hunting, and save you 1/2 the clicks. Vortex's Dead-hold BDC is awesome, and calibrated in MOA, so it is easy to calculate exact drops.
I am considering the Viper HS for my next rifle, but I am also looking at the Sightron LR scopes. Your listed scopes are also very good. The Conquest is hard to beat. |

Out of that group Zeiss Conquest is the pick of the litter but in your other post you were trying to stay under $500 which severely limits you in the Conquest line.
I have this scope on one of my rifles and its a great scope.

One of my sons has this scope on his musket and he has killed lots of deer with it out to 300 yds which is pretty good for black powder but he dials in correction like a tactical scope. So the answer is they are all good scopes but have subltle differences in reticle, type of knobs etc but in this price range between 600 and 1000 the scopes are pretty darn good or they cant compete so there is no wrong choice there unless you select the wrong power range for the distance you are hunting.

The reason I can go higher is that I think I may trade in the SII Big Sky and also there are several conquests on the sample list for $599 price range and there is a $29.99 special for the Kenton Custom turrets. How does the Conquest compare to the VX3?

Conquest is better glass than VX3 and generally considered a better scope. The deal on Kenton Knobs is on NEW scopes only. The ones on Samplelist are a great deal and you can call and ask some of them do carry Zeiss lifetime transferable warranty. You wont be disappointed in Zeiss.
