I've just purchased a Zeiss Conquest and noticed it is marked, "Assembled in USA". That caught my interest. Who assembles them? So, I contacted Zeiss CS who kindly informed me that the parts are German, but who/where the scope is assembled is confidential. As everyone here is more experienced in these matters than I, does anyone have an idea about the American end to the Conquest?

Carl Zeiss Optical, LLC.
Attn: Customer Service Department
711 Moorefield Park Drive, Building E
North Chesterfield, VA 23236

This is the adress found on their website. Zeiss has a factory here in the US, and that's where they assemble the scope.

The mechanical parts are German. The glass in made in the Czech Republic (some say Meopta makes it, some say Schott has a factory there, and they make it). The coatings are also done in Germany (most likely in the main factory in Wetzlar). Then the whole thing is sent to the US for the final assembly.

Hope this helped. Hope what I said is true, too Big Smile

Meopta supplies the lenses and possibly the erector assy.

Remaining major parts are made in Germany.  Small parts like fasteners, o-rings, and the like could come from anywhere.

Don't know where the assembly facility is other than it's in the US.
