I made an exhaustive search for a scope for my TC Encore 22-250 and ended up spending more than I intended and got a Conquest 4.5-14X44.  I won't list all the scopes I considered and looked through, but everthing was either inferior quality or two feet long and weighed two pounds or more expensive than the Conquest.  I took it out and sighted it in at 100 yds and really liked having 14X and the side focus.  After I got home I had it out to clean when my Golden Retreiver knocked it off the table.  The rifle hit a concrete floor on the end of the barrel after falling about 3 feet and then fell on over and the scope hit very hard.  It's a good thing I love my dog.  There's a pretty good ding on the end of the barrel, but luckily the scope cover was on I think the rubber that connects the two ends absorbed most of the impact.  It was over the side focus knob where it hit the floor.  No obvious damage to the scope, but it hit really hard and I was worried about interior damage.  I shot it yesterday and it was off about 6" to the right at 100 yards.   I zeroed it again and shot 50 rounds, all of which would have gone in a 2" hole.

I've always known my Leupolds could stand up to this kind of treatment but had never tested any of the Conquests.  Thankfully, it appears they can handle it as well.

Hello, I have a 6.5X20 Conquest. Absolutely flawless. It is mounted on a Rem 308 that has shot 2500+ rounds. I would recommend to you that you shoot a square... Example... 20 clicks up..20 to the right ..20 down.. 20 to the left..20 up. shoot 3 shots at each point and see if the scope tracks... You should have a 5 inch square....If it does I would guess you are in good shape.

I had a 3.5-10x44mm Conquest on a .300 Win Mag. that went tits up on me after 150 rounds or so.

Sent the scope back to Zeiss and had a new one in my hands in 8 days.

The "new" Conquest worked perfectly for the duration I owned the rifle.

I think the laser etched reticle makes the Conquest a little tougher than a wire reticle rig too.

Congrats on a fine optics purchase and try to keep it from "going to the dogs"

OK??

Thanks for post.

Also known as a "box test".
