I can locate targets and see much more when the scope is at its minimum power in near dark situations. OK 1/2 may be execrated but in the near dark I can see much better on the lowest setting. Turn the power up the field of view is narrowed to the point you can not locate the target and or get enough light to see the reticle. At the lower power he should be able to see anything that the binoculars could see. There should also be enough light or field to find the reticle. It works when you are hunting coon and opossoms at night. That is the real world.

Need to follow the rules. Just hard to determine which set of rules to follow
Now the rules have changed again.

Bingo.

Thunbs Up gotcha.  I thought he was inferring he had a 10X25 binocular, in which case the 2.5mm EP would be valid.  Sorry.

A couple of miutes after dark you should be able to pick up a deer out in a food plot.I have used the Sightron Big Sky S2 with good results where I hunt and also used the Conquest. The Sightron Big Sky did have a slight edge over the Conquest.I used 6 power on my scope and see the deer clearly not on the lower power setting. You should practice with your scope and see at what setting you can see.
