I m decided to go for a Nighforce BR , I asking me wich configuration I should get.

Model BR 8-32X 56 mildot or NP-R1 or Mildot
I have not clear which difference and advantages has each one.

At first I decided for 8-32X , I don t understand why does exist a supermagnification  42X. Because I think it  is imposible hold consistenly a higher 20X or more, even with tropod.

Why does use is given for 42X?

thanks
(excuse my english, I have studied only ,not practiced in life. )

Don't mean to throw a monkey in the wrench, but here is your 40X scope, and it is quite good.

The NP-R1 is an MOA-based reticle while the mil-dot is a , umm, mil reticle.  For simplicity, I recommend you get either mil/mil (reticle/turret) or MOA/MOA.

Personally, I like the hash marks more than the dots, easier for me to accurately range - but that is a defintie preference and nothing more.
