For some odd reason this computer wants to double post when I make a post and when I try to go back a page it wants to go back two pages.  It is like it wants to double everything.   Also seems to not want to highlight and copy things so something odd is going on and I have tried several things but have not found a fix.   Any of you computer savy guys know a fix.

You have not listed what you have already tried to correct it with, so i'm not sure what to ask you that might not already be redundant advice.

Does it do it on other websites?
Does copy/paste work in word or notepad?
Have you rebooted?

It's really quite strange It acts like everything I do it wants to double like if I want to drag an icon across the desk top just touching it once will pop it open.  When I want to highlight something like a scope's info on SWFA it will be really hard to get it to select and highlight often taking several attempts before I can successfully copy the info.  When I write a post her I get an error message saying spamming is not permitted so I  know it is sending multiples of the same thing.  I have run several programs avast, malwarebytes, super antispyware, Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool.  What ever it is -  is quite illusive and I am beginning to suspect my hardware- mouse.  Also when clicking on something to open it sometimes it will take multiple attemptes like it flashes open then closes before you can select from the list rather than working as it should.  yes I have rebooted several times .

Did you change out the mouse to test your theory?  You can unplug the mouse and use the keyboard to open windows/cutpaste etc.... to see if it's the hardware or the software.  Could also be the port you have your mouse plugged into.  Try a different usb port. You can also have Windows test the port to see if it shows errors.

XP, Vista or Win 7? I had a similar problem in XP where the Spy ware and Anti virus were tying up so much processor that the keys and mouse were waiting to in line to be processed. Try going to the task manager to see what all is running.

Is your mouse and keyboard USB or do they plug into the I/O ports colored green and pink?  As scooter said if USB try differet ports, if that don't work try different units.  If they use the I/O ports I would get some USB units and try them.  Just gotta start the process of elimination.  I would start with the simple things first which is the mouse itself.  If that don't fix it then start with software.
