Don't often get to compare 2 scopes side by side. Some may find this interesting. The SA is out
of production and it is 4x14/56mm obj/30mm tube weighs 28oz/lighted reticle. The Leupold was
a 4.5x14(although there specs show it 14.9) and strangely enough it appeared a tad more powerful
against the SA on highest setting. It is a 30mm tube, weighs 16 oz,40mm obj.  I was curious how
they looked at distant objects for clarity. At any distance they both appeared EQUAL in clarity and
brightness despite the larger objective of the Springer. The SIDE parallax focus of the Leupold is
lite years ahead of the objective focus,no real surprise there. On the highest power setting the
distance space BETWEEN mildots was EXACT on known objects at 100/200/300 yds! Good news
there for sure! Although a lighted reticle is NOT night vision,I have to say it really WORKS great in
low light or total darknes(if your target has ANY light around it). There are a few SA out there
for sale but be careful there is NO damage(like a dent in the tube body).I have HEARD it said that
SA will still service these scopes---can anyone VERIFY this??. FYI    Pete

I called them a couple years ago, just to inquire.  They carry a lifetime warranty and SA will have repaired or will replace with an "equivalent" scope.  My concern is who gets to define "equivalent".  Some people's equivalency is different than mine...   However, still a good deal.
