They're gonna need something. We haven't had an acorn crop to amount to anything in two yrs.

They were born last yr actually. We've got two different subspecies of deer here. Mainly the Virginia whitetail but I live close to the Allegheny Mts where Northern whitetail are and some bucks will show up sometimes.  Saw 3 the yr before last.

They're usually with a group of 11 but the does are fawning so their kinda scattered out now.  There are a couple other bucks with the group that are a little more than half the size of these guys(twins by the way).

You better start planting some corn and soy beans for them.

It's amazing how quickly their horns grow back each year.

Ah yes.... The new recruits.  Amazing how spindly they are when they are young like that. Then the weight they will gain next year.

We know you put up the (petting zoo) sign to trick those boys into coming in your yard!  By the way, I want my sign back before season opens up here.

Hadn't seen him in almost 3wks.  Got a QUICK pic earlier(poor quality).  He's an 8.  Probably all he'll be this year but he's got plenty of time to get some length on those tines for this yr.  Not bad for a youngster though.

That's gonna be a great buck next year or  better yet two or three years. 15 inch spread and the tines will get longer. Gonna be a great trophy when the right time comes
