THANKS tahqua! GREAT price by the way! The guy I'm helping out wants 100% confirmation that Colt Light and Rem 700 bases are not interchangeable. I told him I thought that Talley made bases special and specifically for the Colt Light and old ULA rifles. Advised him to contact Melvin Forbes. Thanks again!

You're welcome.
You could also contact Gary Turner at Talley. http://www.talleyrings.com/ He has always been helpful and I'm sure he's had a few Ultra Light customers through the years. I don't believe Colt did anything to change the original Melvin Forbes designs, BTW. They are a very nice rifle. |

THANKS again! I'll pass the info along. I've only ever seen one Colt Light and that was maybe five yrs ago. Shop wanted $475 nib w/box and paperwork. It was a 7mm Rem Mag and seemed to be a decent rifle from what I could tell. I do know you can send them in to NULA and have them gone over which brings them up to Melvin Forbes high standards. At a price though!
