Short and sweet I went to buy myself a cold steel trail master the other day and found the pricing from $150 to $300. Is there different offerings of this knife or what is the diff that would justafie the pricing? Anyone know?

I think it depends on where the knife was made.  It started out being made in USA and then went around the world.

Sheath, handle material, blade length and finish, when and where made account for price variations.  Cold Steel's website currently lists 5.5" and 7.5" blade lengths, black or silver and some have brass guards while others look like stainless.  At the moment all have Krayton handles which is a checkered non-slip rubber coating.  These are large heavy duty camp, field and survival knives made of thick 01 tool steel with proper heat treatment and will take a lot of abuse.  Cold Steel website prices range from $199-$299 but there are lots on Ebay priced lower.  I have one from the early 80s I've never used with brass guard, Krayton handle and hard sheath covered with Cordura.  If interested for $100 plus shipping let me know.
