'Llo there everyone, Just signed up hoping to pick the collective brain here. So far the scoop is I have a brand new DMPS LR-308 with a ATN 8-24 Illuminated scope with a 75mm obj which I bought used. Had a cracked focal plane when I bought it, sent it in for repairs after sending sixty rounds downrange. I steadilly worked myself back to twenty five yards and was unable to hit paper after having a gunsmith bore sight it after breaking it down and attempting on five different occasions to boresight it at home, and am now trying to find an offset device to use my boresighting kit with, in hopes of actually managing to get this thing on paper somehow some way.

Mongo, welcome to the OT.

Your first problem is you have an ATN.  I had a 6-18x65... I had to send it back, actually replaced it, 6 times before I got one that worked properly.  Once I got a good one, it was fine, but it took almost 6 months and a lot of shipping. I gave it to a friend, acYour best bet for boresight is a physical boresight at 100 yards.

Appreciate the suggestion. I beleive a new scope is in order at this point, and per chance do you have any clue as to where I could find an offset for a boresight kit? I have been unable to locate one thus far.

Just boresight down the barrel.  Take the lower off the upper.  Sit in on bag or a vice and look through the barrel pointed at the center of the target and carefully turn the knobs on your scope to get it also on the center.  If you do it at 25 yards make sure that the scope reticle are about 2.5 to 3 inches over the image through the center of your barrel.  That should put you pretty close at longer ranges.
