So I'm posting this for a friend as I'm tired of adjusting his scope. He has an older Husqvarna in 308 (nice looking gun), and he currently has a Bushnell Scopechief 3-9, something or other. I have to re-sight his gun at least 2-3 times per year (literally before every hunting trip and before every time we shoot it). He seems to have his mind set that it's not the scope, or if it is he'll just ebay another scopechief for like $50-100. Do you guys have any recommendations for a decent scope that still has a classic look. Let's not try to break the bank, but at the same time I'd like to adjust it once and not have bullets flying all over the place. I'm prety sure I'll be changing the rings at the same time as I have little faith in them as well.

Last year I picked up one of the 80th anniversary K series Weaver 4X scopes. It's a steel tube with gloss finish. In my mind, it has that old time, simple look. I mounted it on an 1885 Low Wall in .243. It's a nice look and, surprisingly enough, pretty darn nice. You may wish to investigate such.

The Leupold VX 2 and FX 2, variable and fixed scopes respectively, are durable with good optical quality and affordable prices with options for gloss and matte finishes to match about any classic rifle.  There are often used scopes on the Sample List or for even better optical quality a used Vari-X III, VX III or VX 3 can often be found in either finish.  Fixed 6x or variable 3-9x are affordable options that will hold zero, withstand the rigors of hunting and last a lifetime.
