Anybody ever tried it, or is it a bad idea? Saw a scope on ebay with a package of fog eliminator included. I just wonder if it is safe to use and if so does it really work.

Cleaning and anti fogging agents can be bad for the lens coatings if they aren't specifically made for scope lenses.

Dr. Duck, if you are referring to the brand name "Clarity", it is safe. Clarity is made by a company called Nanofilm. They make the Zeiss cleaning products such as the sprays and pre-moistened towelettes. I can't say how effective the fog eliminater will be however because I've never used it.

Thanks Roy that's what I need to hear. I don't want to try something harmful to the coatings. There is another fog eliminator marketed as Nikon fog eliminator. I even saw this on SWFA's website. As to effectiveness, that can be easily tested.
