Chris what my primary need in a rifle scope is holding an exact zero minus drift-- and coming back to the same zero when adjusting elevation. The thread above detailing the Weaver system must be a strong endorsement of their system. I do have some of the older Weavers and would rate them excellent for adjustment and holding zero.

How does the construction of various brands stack up today? The Leo is definitely one of the premier brands but I read cases in BR forums where the L isn't that sound [new 45x]. But I have to think some of the lesser expensive brands put some decent adjustment systems in? Any rate a chance for a trial in your opinion? Probably the other factor affecting zero is paralax-- another rating to consider.

How about the used market? I hear the older Japan Tasco's rate well-- made by Hiato [sp]. Any input there?

Thanks.

A.

I would say the best scopes for adjustments would be any Weaver with Mircro-Trac, Leupold scopes with the M1 knobs, Burris Signature Series and the Super Sniper line of scopes.  As far as older Japan Tasco scopes it would be hard to say because there are so many different models out there, it would be a gamble buying a used one and expecting it to be the same level as the brands mentioned above.
