I'm kinda confused about all this electric car crap. If the purpose is to cut fuel cost, then how is that a savings, since electricity aint cheap to charge the battereis with, and I can tell you for certain a photovoltaic panel is not cost efficient. If the purpose is to save the planet (that's a load too), then since most power plants are coal fired (the evil, evil coal), then that sends as much if not more pollution into the atmosphere.
Can someone explain the benefits to me?

I also don't trust Snopes, since they are run by a bunch of lefties, and their figures don't line up either.

People like Jay Leno can afford to buy a Chevy Volt for the credits. He makes over $61,400 per episode. He needs to save on taxes. Cool

Volts catch fire.   The Government and GM tried to cover it up.

God Bless America.

I work with someone that was on the Volt design team before coming to B&D.  He  said the Volt is a death trap.  The political pressures applied to the program by management and the government kept it so.  The very first battery packs were encased in a Magnesium housing (purely a management decision)!!!!  How freaking smart is placing a rather large energy bomb inside a ignitable metal casing?!?!?  Brilliant!!! Loco

How does the "concerned" (and snooty) young hipster get her new Chevy Volt over Independence Pass to go shopping in Aspen?

A tow truck.
