would like to see side by side tests of scopes in the low end say under 250(arbitrary#), in the varmint target range of perhaps 6to24 4to16 or near. With comparisons of objective and tube sizes. I have a cheap 50mm that seems no brighter than a 40mm, so why carry extra for nothing. they are used in daylite hours for chucks, and target shooting. would like to get best I can for $. thanks sandy |

IMHO, cheap glass and high magnification don't mix well.

If it is tourist season, why can't we shoot them?

thanks for your thoughts. I would buy better it I could afford it. but these cheap scopes do work and there are many people in my position that would appreciate a comparison that may save us from buying the complete junk. simmons has a couple that I would be interested in. weaver, and others offer a low end 4to16 or 6to20 or 24 range. If I only needed one scope it would be so easy but I have several barrels that need to be scoped. that pretty much limits me to low end. I have a burris 4,5 to 14 and it cost much more than my bsa 4to16 but isnt that much of a improvement. Muller makes some in my price range also. the redfields I have seen dont impress me at all. they look good on outside thou. I feel a good test would help alot of people in the pwr ranges I mentioned. the vortex on sample list with the v plex illuminated rect. @129.00 any thoughts? I dont like lite up recticles. maybe this one is ok? thanks sandy |

Nice, that's a very detailed comparison. For me the low light is what makes me not want to buy the cheaper scopes.
