Does anyone know how to change the batter on a Steiner Military 5-25x56? I called Steiner and a man named Josh told me to turn the illumination turret counter-clockwise to unscrew it. I tried this and, after turning it pretty hard, it doesnt unscrew. I could turn it harder but I dont want to break it. Has anyone changed the battery on their Steiner?

The battery compartment is incorporated into the illumination turret.  There is knurled portion of the turret and that is what you have to rotate.  Not the whole turret.  Grab the knurled surface and rotate counterclockwise.  It can be a little stiff, but it will rotate.

Do you know if Steiner upgraded the turrets on their M5Xi line of scopes in the past? I read something about it. I asked Steiner about it when I called and they said no.

The first M5Xi turrets were a little on the light side.  Subsequent version were made with a little more resistance.  Aside from that re-calibration there were not changes done that I know of.

They are pretty nice turrets.
