Cerebus Capital Management group, owners of Remington etc. (Marlin on and on) has acquired Safeway in addition to already owning Albertsons.

A gun store in the grocery store in the future?  we could only hope.

The old Albertsons in tulsa had the best firearm and reloading department in the city. It was the only place you could get reloading supplies on Sunday Then they closed all of the Albertsons here. It was a big loss.Whacko

personally prefer a dedicated gun store, but I'm wondering how much they are looking at Walmarts figures.

I think it is spelled Cerberus. The three headed dog. Guardian to the gates of hell. The acquisition of Albertson's was in 2006 They just merged Albertson's with Safeway in 2014. A large share holder of Cerberus is the California state pension board. The pension board influenced Cerberus to place Freedom Group on the block after Sandy Hook. There have been no takers as of yet.
Doing a Google search shows they have made large donations to the Democratic party for years. Remember how foolish Dan Quayle acted during his Vice Presidency. Making the Republican party look so bad. In 1999 he became the chairman of the company's Global Investments Division.

Three heads can make it easy watch over a lot of stringed puppets.

Having control of guns, ammunition and food can cripple a revolution or a weakened country.

Just beware of the three headed dog.

Safeway Stores inc was bought huh....  Guess Jr just didn't have dad's tenacity...

I worked for Safeway, 1977-1989...  they were the largest food chain in the world,  In mid 80s a hostile take out was attempted.  It was fought off my the CEO who retired shortly after that turning the ranes over to his son.  He made over 200 million dollars fighting off the take-over...
I wish I understood how that happened as Safeway sold off all their overseas stores to raise money to fight the hoatile take-over... and ended the fight at less than half their previous size.  Loco

Never heard of guns in grocery stores.  Just old Woolworths and hardware stores.
