Hi All,
I have a scope that need some TLC.... however I cannot find any mention/pic on the internet of what I have.. weird.  I'll give a quick description of it and perhaps someone will have a bit of info on it.(cannot post pic yet)

15 inches long
is a matt brown colour
4 lenses 15x60, 30x60, 40x60 and 60x60
on one lens it says TASCO coated optics No.88432
another lens says Japan, that is all the writing on it.
some set screws are rusted off but the prisms, lenses and brass are good. there is a plate missing that threads onto the body. I'm kinda interested in getting/fabricating the missing stuff and using it....

Thanks

Pete

Found this online using the serial number you provided: http://www.naturabuy.fr/LUNETTE-TASCO-3-9x56-reticle-LUMINEUX-NEUVE-item-88432.html
But if you post a photo, I'm sure you will get someone to recognize it.

Good luck.

Thanks Garyalarson,  This is the correct serial number however there is a T in front of it. This is also a spotting scope, not a rifle mount (should have clarified)
I have pic's of it, cannot post as yet.

BTW Gary Larson, The Far Side!

This almost sounds like the Swift Spotting scope that I have.  Mine has the multiple eye pieces that screw in to a tray and comes in a brown leather case that includes holds the carriage and tripod.  Case looks like an extended hard shell bino case.  Definitely old school that I would date to the 50s/60s.

It has japanese glass, but not sure what other markings are on it.  I'll see about getting some pictures up.  Might be similar to what you have.

Thanks Marine24,
The eyepieces on this are on a round turret with the focus knob above it. As it was apart when I received it, I have no idea of the orientation.

Gary, That was my bad on the number as it read T88432 I forgot the letter in my original post.
