I'm still trying to find "thee" pair of stadium glasses and was wondering if I took a vintage wide angle 7x35 porro binoc that had some deep plastic eyecups and shortened the cup height on a lathe or something, wouldn't this help me get my glasses closer to the oculars and thereby negate the short eye relief associated with these binocs?

What is your idea of a "vintage" wide angle 7x35?

Some older 7x 35 binoculars have fold down rubber eyecups which can be removed quite easily.

Other older 7x35 binoculars have metal rims, just slightly above the eyepiece lenses, and trying to 'grind' them down would probably do more harm than good because eyeglass lenses could very easily get scratched by unpolished, unpainted exposed metal.

As far as I am concerned W I D E angle binoculars are some what exaggerated, as the majority of wide angle binoculars rarely are sharp out to the edges, so, you end up with views that are not 100% sharp and in focus.

You might try and search the internet and see if you can find a Miyauchi 5x32w "Binon" Binocular which  has a 13.2 degree FOV.
