I found this in my attic.  Can anyone identify it?  Looks like a spotting scope.  Only markings on it are
Tasco
Coated Opticals
20x60

Looks old as it has an awesome wooden box....

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

Welcome to Optics Talk.

Tasco is now defunct. Not sure what you are looking to find out, but maybe google?

Found out it is a 8TE 60 Power Scope but looking to find out the years these were made.  Trying to see how long the thing has been up there lol.

In the 50's and 60's a lot of things came in wooden boxes, microscopes, spotting scopes, Smith and Wesson model 29 revolvers etc. People tended to take some pride in what they were building and there were no injection molded plastic boxes etc.  You can relax though it is still not worth a fortune its an older optic with older lenses and lens coatings. Take it out and use it a little and enjoy having it or sell it but dont expect too much because everything Tasco made they made a lot of,  fairly cheaply.
This is todays equivalent.
