I recently bought 2 new rifle scopes, one is a 3-9x10mm and the other is a 1.5-4.5x32mm. I had committed the 1.5-4.5 to a Browning X-bolt 30.06, and the 3-10 to a Browning Shorttrac .308. I am thinking I need to swap these 2 scopes. The 30.06 will become my deer, pig, and possibly elk rifle, the .308 will be a pig, coyote and possibly an occasional deer rifle. I normally hunt pigs at night and think the low power and wide field of view of the 1.5 power and Firefly reticle would be a perfect match for this type of hunting. I also like the more compact scope on the Shorttrac for the running and gunning that will follow. I already have "low" Dednutz scope mounts for both rifles that will accommodate either scope, so that isn't an issue.

Am I on the right track, 3-10 to the 30.06 and 1.5-4.5 to the 308?

Thanks

That doesn't sound like a bad setup for each rifle.  You can always start off that way and then make changes as necessary.

Yes, thats the way I'd personally set them up also.
