Hello All,

Went to Cabelas store today in Lehi and was quite impressed with there Alaskan Guide 6x44 fixed power scope. I compared it to a Leupold VX 3 and noticed that the Alaskan Guide had finer cross hairs which I liked and also I could move my head around quite a bit more before the image went black. Cost on it is 210.00.  Leupold was something like 369.00. Anyone have an opinion on this scope or the money it cost's.? It is made in Japan but the counter guy did not know who actually made them.

Thanks.

Welcome to The OT!!

Try the "search" function, my friend.

They get talked about here from time to time.

I have never seen one.

They appear to be decent quality scopes.  I would guess they are made by LOW or Hakko.

i had a 52mm one in my hands the other day, and it was quite clear -

very good optics for the money - and my buddy has fired lots of rounds since and said it's repeatable too.

good luck.

i tried to find out who makes it, to no avail........it IS japan. but high quality.

I purchased the scope and so far I am quite happy with it. Seems bright and a nice full field of view if that is the correct terminalogy. I mounted it on a new Browning BLR 30-06 and I think it will be a good combo for Mountain Mule Deer here in Utah. I have only fired 11 rounds thru the combo but hope to shoot it some more before winter shuts me down.

Will report on that later.
