Well, with a rifle as nice as that it's likely not the first time tears have been shed! A lesser scope would be like putting retreads on a BMW. I'm usually not that attracted to Coopers, finding them too glossy for my tastes but that one has a great look.

I have that same rifle; am ready to upgrade from the Nikon on it now. What rings are those, Leupold PRW's?

Why are you crying, can't put the bolt back in??  (just kidding) A nice rifle like that deserves an equally nice scope.

Have you had a chance to test the rifle/scope combo out yet?

Very nice rig from top to bottom, Malazan -- scope, mounts, rifle, and chambering!  It's hard to fault your choices!

I'm normally a fan of the Stainless + Synthetic, unless it happens to look like yours.  It's been a while since I've seen a set up that was so sharp looking.  I could definitely love that look.

I'm not sure Warne's making the Weaver-style bases for the Model 54 yet. I have some for my 21, although I'm running Talley Lightweights at this time.
Boy, it sure would be nice to see some pics of that 54 when it arrives Wink. What style is it: Classic, Varmint, Phoenix?

Check out a Cooper Phoenix. That, too, will make one a believer in stainless/synthetic.
