Is there a chart somewhere so you can know what size to order by scope make and model or just measure and go with that?
Also has anyone used the newer flex ones and how do you like? |

They do have a chart. You measure where you want the cover, look it up, and order that numbered cover. I googled 'butler creek scope cover chart' and got a bunch of hits.

Any time i need a size i call and aggrivate CFII or any of the fine folks at SWFA. The guys at SWFA have handled bout every scope there is and test fit the caps on them to know what fits and what fits the best. Its a simple call and always a pleasure to deal with them.

If you just post your flip up questions on this thread. http://www.opticstalk.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=1181 Typically you will have an answer pretty quick by one of the SWFA employees. They keep a good watch on that thread.

I called SWFA to get cap sizes for a Nikon Buckmaster 6-18x40. The size I was given over the phone for the objective was right on, but the ocular size given was two sizes to small. Since the scope was already mounted, I ended up taking rifle and scope to a large local gun store where the sales guy and I tried caps until we got it right. If there is a store in the area that will let you bring in a (cased and cleared) rifle, I would recommend doing it that way. Then you're sure. |
