I am looking between a couple of new scopes for my 222. After my first searches i found the bushnell legend 5-15. A good higher powered variable scope. Now somone has told me about the swift 6-18x44 premier scope. Do you like this scope? If you have any other good suggestions that are under 200 bucks that would be great. Thank you

What is the rifle that you want to put the scope on?  Is it a lightweight, slim and trim....or a bull-barrel with a pretty heavy laminated stock?

I think you should match the dimensions to the rifle and be sure not to go too big.  If you the furthest you will shoot is 300 yards or so you can stay 3-9 or 2.5-10 and be better off.  It will be better for handling, asthetics, and not be so hard on the lower quality glass.

If you can bump up a little more you can get Nikon Buckmasters, Weaver Grand Slams, etc. for around $300-350 and they will be good enough at those higher magnifications.

If you stay around $200 maybe just get a Fullfield 2 with the ballistic reticle and not have to worry about trusting a lower end scope with repeated turret adjustments.

The Swift 6-18 with mil-dot is an excellent choice for your application.  It has very good glass for the price.  As good or better than the more expensive ones.  It also has one of the best warranties in the market.
