I would like to know if anyone has had the opportunity to check out the new Discoverer's from Bushnell with the XTR technology. Bushnell claims that they made an already good binocular even better with these new coatings. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had a chance a few months ago to take a brief look at them (both in 7X and 10X) at the Utah Cabela's.  At the same time, I also looked through Pentax SPs, Nikon LXLs and Monarchs, Leupold Gold Rings, Bushnell Elites, Swarovski ELs & SLCs, etc. etc. etc.

Admittedly this was only a brief look and was done only in the store, which is a terrible place to compare optics but, I was really very impressed. Looking at the animal mounts on Cabela's display "mountain" showed these models to be bright, clear, and comfortable. Were I buying a mid-priced binocular today, they would definately be on my short list.

Roy,

I briefly looked at them at the local Cabelas as well...the 7x version and was also impressed with the brightness and wide field of view. That was about a month or so ago. However, I am again looking for a new bin and have my eye on the 7x42 version. I might be checking them out again this weekend. If I do then I will post more.
