I have a 7mm mag that is currently sporting a 6-18 Redfield rangefinding scope. It is too much magnification for woods hunting around here and I started looking for a 3-9x scope to install.

Then I saw this laser rangefinding riflescope from Bushnell.  I do like long range target shooting as well as the woodland hunting, and this might be the ticket.

Has anyone used these scopes? What is the optical quality of them? I was considering buying a rangefinder eventually, but if these work as advertised I might just go for the all-in-one solution.

I compared the two and went with the Nikon Laser IRT.  I have mine mounted on an Etronx .220 Swift and it is so accurate it make your eyes spin.  I love it.  SWFA's prices on it are better than the price I paid, but I was unfamiliar with SWFA when I made the purchase.  No problems with the Bushy, but the Nikon remote seemed to work better and the glass was better for low light shooting.  It is probably a toss up, but the Nikon seemed a bit better.
Great scope, very reliable range finding, excellent value.

Thanks...

Hmmm... the thing is I REALLY like the adjustable turrets on the Bushnell, if Nikon had those I'd go with them for sure. But although I like the Nikon scopes, I really don't care that much for the BDC hoops. Just too big for precision shooting at longer ranges, IMO.  And the Nikoplex offering doesn't have the turrets so it would be guesstimating how far over to hold...

But the lowlight issue makes this more difficult of a decision now.

Since mine is "designated" now for the Etronx, I probably won't shoot much beyond 500yds with it.  No problem for me with the circles.  However, as I said the Bushnell is a tossup.  BUT, I do think the Nikon glass is better.  Less "edge effect", better in low light, just seemed all around clearer, to me.  I would not refuse a Bushnell and have considered getting one for another rifle.  There is nothing wrong with that choice and your eyes probably "see" differently than mine.  It is a good scope, I just liked the Nikon a little better.  You won't go wrong with either one.  If the Bushnell has features you prefer, that is the one to get.

The Burris is pretty nice, too.
