Well. I called Bushnell again to see what was up with my Elite 4200 in for repair. The website stated "replacement part on order." I was told that they were waiting on ME to send them ten bucks for return shipping. My warranty card clearly states that Bushnell pays the return shipping cost. Apparently the policy has changed and I was somehow supposed to know that.
Sheesh! I wish they had informed me of that a month ago!

Bushnell's been on a roll lately due in,no small part,to the OT/SWFA sites. Why are they willing drop the ball with poor CS?

Fax them a copy of the card that states they pay shipping.  Now, I would pay shipping on a new replacement...

I have had to return two Bushnell scope in the last couple years and I had to pay the $10 both times.  It is stated on their website in the return section.  http://bushnell.com/customer_service/us_repair.cfm  But if my warranty card said different I would be fighting them on it too.

The literature that I read states Limited Lifetime Warranty with "No Questions Asked One Year Warranty ELITE Replacement Policy".  It also stipulates a $10.00 S&H fee to be sent with request for repair service.

Since that's the warranty you bought with your scope I feel they should honor it.  If a company changes it's policy, it should honor any warranty that was provided with the product in question IMO.  What they're doing is a terrible business practice.  Especially when we have forums like this spread the word about poor customer service.

You will get it, it takes  a few months if I recall.  Don't expect too much more than a free jacket though.  It is definitely worth the $10 and hassle of sending everything in but it does not breathe one bit.   It is like wearing a garbage bag but is a decent "backup" jacket.

That is just the no questions asked replacement part of it.  You still get the regular lifetime warrantee against defect forever.

Well I sent off $30 for three of the jackets and never got a thing and it has been many months! Upon requesting what happened from them, they said another party was dealing with the jackets and went bankrupt. They wanted proof of purchase with the barcodes on the boxes to do anything. Well guess what? They were sent with the first 30 bucks. I'll never buy anything with hopes of getting something for nothing again! All three scopes were worth the money so I still came out on top anyway!Smile

Wow that sucks.  Well you got a good scope anyways.  I don't think I would let bushnell off the hook though talk to a manager and show them your receipt and the canceled $30 checks made out to bushnell.

Call them, ask to speak to a supervisor.  They may ask you to fax you a copy of the canceled checks. You should do so.  You are going to ask "Who do serve notice to (legal council office)?" You want you jacket or a refund.  Magic Phrase: If you do not receive the jackets or the refund with in 72 hours (after serving notice), then you are turning the matter over to postal inspectors office.  You just started a 200 dollar an hour process.

The jacket probably didn't cost over three bucks when it left the dock in Hong Kong.  Yet you still always have to ask yourself "Why are they trying to bribe me into buying this one?"

I'm surprised a company the size of Bushnell would not find someone else to take care of the jackets if the original biz went under.  I would guess that's what will happen.  I'll call and raise *&% on Monday.

A buddy of mine is pursuing the issue, but I don't really care because all three scopes were the 3-9x40's at a great price ($250). They track well, have good optics and just plain work! Excellent

I couldn't agree more.  I still haven't seen mine either.  I think it's been around 5 months now.

I called Bushnell @3pm Tuesday.   They said the company went bankrupt and now they have a company from El Paso called Young America taking care of sending out the jackets.  The number is 888-326-6187 to call and see if they have your name on file yet.  The old co. is slowly sending over the info.  THey didn't have any record of me in their system yet.  She said once you're in the system it will be 4 to 6 weeks for delivery of jackets.  Just to clarify calling them doesn't put you in the system.  They need all the info from the old company.

I heard they're not great jackets.  I already spent the $10 and they cashed the check.

Can you tell who cashed the check. Another company or Bushnell? Mail fraud is one of the few things that seem to get punished any more.

I'm pretty sure the checks are made payable to Bushnell.  I'd have to look.  I'm not too worried about it.  It sounds like I'll get it after a couple of months.
