I have looked all over for a comparison of the Bushnell 1600 elite vs the 1600 pinseeker to compare the differences. I understand the pinseeker model is for golf and all angle/arc type information would be useful for golf. Does anyone know if this is the only difference? I know a place i can get the pinseeker model for $230 so i am tempted to pick this up.

Sorry give SWFA a call and ask or ask Bushnell on line. I only shoot golf with a 300 Win Mag.

I have used both of these range finders. I think that either one would be a good choice for hunting. I once spoke with an bushnell executive that believed that the pinseeker was better suited for shooting due to the fact that that if you are shooting long range for greater accuracy you would rely on you own data rather than the BDC in the range finder. The pin seeker still gives you the exact distance from you to the target along with the the corrected distance based on the angle relationship between you and the target that you would use for shot calculations. Our sniper section actually carried the pinseekers in Afghanistan as a light weight alternative to the heavy cumbersome rangefinders issued by the military. They worked great for our section ranging person sized targets out to around 600 meters. I have been able to range reflective targets out to around 1400 meters. You won't be disappointed with either one.

highly recommended. bushnell makes awesome rangefinders, i know its gimmicky, but there is a reason golf pros use bushnell when their walking through the course and testing their shots. most golf range finders are only called that for marketing purposes, they perform equally well for other ranging applications. the accuracy and range are exactly the same for the 1600 elite and the pinseeker version, everything else you dont really need so I would go with the cheaper model if you can still get it.
