LOOKING AT GETTING NEW BINOS AND AM CONSIDERING THE BUSHNELL ELITE 8X43 AND THE MEOPTA MEOSTAR 8X42. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHICH IS BETTER AND WHY WHICH IS BETTER AT LOW LIGHT. I HAVE FOUND THE ELITES FOR $679 WHICH IS A GOOD BIT CHEAPER THAN THE MEOPTAS. THANKS FOR THE SUGGESTIONS

If you have done a search and are down to one or the other of those two, I prefer the Elite because it seems to have a more neutral color.  The Meopta has a slight yellowish tint to the image.  Also, simply as a personal preference, I  prefer the lighter weight and open hinge of the Elite.  The Meostar is a bit nose heavy to my taste.

Now, if you are looking for the best image for the least amount of money, the Promaster Infinity Elite ELX ED offers a better image than either one of these.  And yes, I have done  side by side comparisons.  The 8x42 Promaster is $500 and the 10x42 is $550.  The Promaster is longer than either of the others and is intermediate in weight between the two.

In my comparison before I bought my Meopta's I thought the Meopta's were noticeably better than the Elites.  But they should since they cost more.

Both great Binos but the Meopta has the better image quality. Just ask Supertool I believe he has been through this before. Wait a minute! Did I miss something....

I looked at better than a half dozen binos in the $900.00 range before settling on the meoptas.  I had it narrowed down to the meoptas and the vortex.  Both were excellent, its just the meoptas felt better to me.

THANKS FOR ALL THE replies. i bought the elites and sent them packing 2 days later price was 679. this is what i found my current binos are 8x42 legends by bushnell, i like their products but this bino wasnt as expected. very clear in the day,not much better at dark than the legends, very hard to get a clear focus, diopter lock kept getting unlocked as it was around my neck, focus had slack in it and to many turns to focus and couldnt find a decent sweet spot, they are very light and i like the design better than the legends but when viewing at dark they had lots of  fuzzyness that my legends didnt seem to have, they were a tad brighter, and they hurt my eyes when viewing something my legends didnt do. I NOW am deciding on the meopta meostars in 7x42 or 8x42  which do you think is best i am looking for low light brightness i am leaning towars the 7x42s. THANKS FOR ALL THE RESPONSES AND WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK

If it is about low light then 7x42 for sure, that will give you 6mm of exit pupil where the 8 will give you 5.25
